With rains continuing in the Philippines, and another possible storm coming on Thursday, August 16, Food for the Hungry staff continue to help flood survivors. From August 6 – 10, FH helped to set up a soup kitchen serving 300 people.
Other relief efforts included a medical outreach, partnering with the Lifeline Foundation at San Roque National High School. FH/Philippines Country Director Debbie Toribio recently wrote that the medical center helped mobilize five doctors and five nurses to help more than 500 patients.
Toribio wrote the following in an email to FH’s Emergency Response Unit:
“Appreciate you all for the help you are providing in particular finding more resources for our response. Thank you!
“Today, purchases and packing for Catmon relief is being done. We connected with our leaders and church partners. Relief distribution will be made tomorrow.”
Please pray for the Philippines as homes and churches need to be reconstructed after being destroyed by the flood waters. Please consider partnering with us to help the Philippines by giving today.

Praying for the Philippines!
Thank you, Wendy!
