Following the tragedy of the Boston Marathon bombings, it was inspiring to see how people from around the world feel connected to the grief and pain of the victims. This highlights the God-given connection we have to our brothers and sisters “in their distress”.

I’m hiking the Grand Canyon, Rim to Rim, in one day. And in so doing have gone on a journey of pondering this idea: That a holistically healthy life is best exposed in acts of compassion. Probably not a novel idea, but one that we should at least contemplate.
